12 Doheny teams at county relays

Day 4 of the county track and field was an excellent day for the club with 12 relay teams competing. Shane O’Connell, Eanna Hayes, Alex Bramoule and Rory Twohig were on the boys U.9 team that won the bronze medal.  Bronze also for the U.11 boys team of Jason Murray, Ryan Collins, Tim Bailey and Alex Coughlan and 5th place for the U.11 team of Rory McCarthy, Charlie Thompson, Jack Hennigan and Oisin Harrington, a remarkable achievement to have 2 teams in the U.11 final.  Our U.14 girls won silver with Niamh McCarthy, Mary Murphy, Ava O’Donovan and Maeve O’Neill in action and later Mary, Ava and Maeve teamed up with Aife O’Neill to take the bronze medal in the U.15 girls.  U.12 boys team of Sam Bailey, Keith McCarthy, Cillian Twohig and Alex Coughlan were 4th  U.11 girls  team of Rhia, Heather, Abbie and Isla McCarthy also qualified for the final as did the U.13 girls team of Niamh McCarthy, Katie Crowley, Carrie McCarthy and Anna O’Mahony.  The other teams were U.10 boys Charlie Thompson, Darragh O’Mahony, Donnocha Hennigan and Shane O’Connell.  U.14 boys Evan Maguire, Joe Bailey, Shey Pyett and Paul Barry.  U.12 girls Katie Crowley, Abbie McCarthy, Ciara Galvin and Ayla O’Connell and U.13 boys were Sam Bailey, Keith McCarthy, Cillian Twohig and Mattie O’Mahony.
In the B Championship there was sprint bronze medals for Anna O’Mahony and Rhia McCarthy and a gold medal for Alex Coughlan in the 600 meters.
